For over a year, we have been watching the progress of a new library very close to our house. Davis particularly, has been obsessed with watching, and counting down until it opened. He asked months ago if we could walk to the library as soon as it opened. About a month before opening, there was a sign placed at the entrance of the library saying "30 days until open". This days counted down all the way until the big day. It opened on a Saturday, and I was out of town that day, so on the very next day, Sunday, the whole family walked to the library. Davis was SO excited. It was 1.2 miles. It was so fun, that we did it again the next day with some friends. People who grew up in a small town will laugh at me for saying this (since I did not grow up in a small town), but doing things like this give this "big city" a small town feel. The fact that we can walk, on a sidewalk without lots of traffic, to the library, that has a great park right next door, gives me a little "Leave it to Beaver" feel. I have a feeling we will be taking many more walks to the library!

The big day finally arrives!
Parker and Davis were so cute looking at books together.
