Tonight, we went out to dinner. We let Parker choose where we ate because we had a great parent/teacher conference today with his teacher. Unfortunate for us, he chose McDonalds. That is not the point of this story though. So, we were eating, and Davis was doing his usual thing that consists of getting up and down from the table (something that drives Noah crazy). All of a sudden, we hear an extremely loud noise that sounds like an alarm. We look up to see that Davis is standing in front of the emergency exit with a look on his face that showed he was scared to death. He apparently had pushed the lever on the emergency door and set off the alarm that was deafening. Parker was furious because he couldn't stand the noise, Davis was terrified by the noise, and it never seemed to affect Emerson. When the lady that works at McDonalds came out there to turn it off, she had a huge set of keys...she went through all of the keys one by one to determine which one would turn off the alarm. Turned out, none of them did. Then she had to run to the back of the store to get another set of keys to try. After about 10 minutes, she finally got it turned off. This was 10 long minutes with the deafening alarm ringing in our ears (along with the ears of the rest of the patrons at McDonalds). Oh Davis, you definitely keep our lives interesting! Only a blog-addicted person like myself would choose this time to take pictures of the event to post on the blog! I wanted to take a picture of the lady rustling to get the alarm turned off, but I was too embarrased for her to see me take her picture! It was all pretty funny though!
