Trip to Atlanta

The week of spring break, Noah took off work on friday, and we took a mini trip into Atlanta. We went back and forth on whether to take Emerson, and decided to let him go to Great Kim's house (my aunt). We knew we wanted to take the boys to the Georgia Capital, and decided somas of the things on our agenda might not be the greatest for a 2 year old. As much as I love Emerson, it was nice to have that time with my two big boys. We went Friday afternoon to the Capital first. The boys loved it! They both love history, so it was fun to go through the self guided tour and learn lots of new things. After that, we went and checked in to hotel right down the road. We walked to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner and finished off the evening hanging out in a park across the street from the hotel. I was one of the parks we used to hang each lunch in when I was in graduate school at Georgia State, so it was fun to show the boys that area too. Saturday morning, we had a great breakfast and then headed to Centennial Olympic Park. The boys played for hours. I was such a wonderful time. We talked about how many people come to Atlanta for vacation, yet we rarely come to the city. We have decided to take advantage of more things like this in the future. It was a great ending to a wonderful spring break!

Georgia Capital

Parker loves reading about and learning about MLK, so of course, he loved this picture.

Getting ready to go into the House of Representatives Chamber.

There was the sweetest volunteer that explained the voting process to the boys. They were mesmerized by all of it.

He thought he was SO big!

Pretending to get their shoes shined.

The view from our hotel room.

Having a great time at the Hard Rock Cafe

Hanging out and "people watching" at the park across from the hotel.

All ready for bed.

Playing at Centennial Olympic Park on Saturday morning.
