OK, so before I can show this video, I have to give you the background of "Gamma Hearts". When Parker was a baby, my mom (Gamma), said that when he was getting his diaper changed on the changing table in his room, that he always stared at the underside of the shelf above him. She said that since he stared at it so intently, that he should have something to look at, instead of a boring piece of wood. So, being the Gamma that she is, she took it upon herself to find something for him to look at. So she placed three red heart stickers on the under side of the shelf, and wrote on them, "Gamma Loves Parker". One word was on each of the hearts. So that gave Parker something to look at. When Davis was born, she changed the stickers to say, "Gamma Loves Davis". That way, Davis could enjoy them too. Throughout the years, the stickers have been named the "Gamma Hearts", and that is what the boys call them. Now here we are, 5 1/2 years later, and of course, the stickers now read "Gamma Loves Emerson". Now that Emerson is smiling, we have discovered that he LOVES his Gamma hearts. Every single time we lay him on his changing table, he immediately stares at them and starts smiling. In fact, the first real time that he laughed out loud, was at his "Gamma Hearts". They obviously don't move, or sing, or laugh back at him, but they sure do make him happy! He must know that they have something to do with his Gamma, since he loves her so much too. He does more "talking" (all of the cooing he is now doing) with his Gamma than with anyone else. Parker even has said to me, "Mommy, does Emerson only talk to Gamma" because he has seen me try to get him to "talk" to me with no luck. He obviously has figured out how special his Gamma is! Didn't take him long to figure it out (not too surprising though). Here is a video of Emerson with his "Gamma Hearts", so you can see for yourself. Enjoy!
I also added a few other pictures of the boys with their Gamma. She means the world to them, and she has worked very hard to build these relationships. I have learned a lot from her, because she takes the time to show them the smallest things that I would never think of. Like a tiny rock on the ground, or a beautiful flower, or a bird. Because of her, my boys (especially Parker) know the names of more types of birds than I do, they look for the moon everytime they go outside at night, and they never walk past a beautiful flower without commenting on it. And I take no credit for these things. The boys soak it all in, and it makes them always come back to her for more. The pictures show just a taste of their relationships!!!
