Reflections

During this past summer, Parker told me one night, "I think I want to write a song for Gamma." He told me that he wanted it to be about the night sky because he and Gamma really like things in the sky. So, he sat down and wrote his song (not with music, so I guess that makes it a poem). He entered his song/poem into the Reflections contest for his school. He won first place for the literature category for first grade for all of his school. We were invited to an awards ceremony to celebrate. Gamma and Poppa came too. Here is his poem (written just as he wrote it, then some pictures from the ceremony.

In the night sky
In the night sky there are twincling stars
and the moon shines brite in the sky.
You'l hear the frogs crocking and the cricket chirping.
And the children are fast asleep.

And if you think his Gamma's heart just about burst with pride you'd be absolutely correct! What a wonderful tribute by that sweet boy. Makes my life worthwhile in SO many ways!
