We had a new friend in our house this Christmas season....Albert the Elf. He is our new Elf on the Shelf. He came to visit the day after Thanksgiving, and each morning when the kids woke up, he was hiding somewhere new. One morning he was in the powdered doughnuts, one morning he was hanging from the fan. This was such a fun tradition to start, and I look forward to this tradition for many years in the future. Here are a few pictures of our new friend (by the way, he was named after Albert, the mascot of the Florida Gators...go figure!)
One morning we woke up and he had fallen off of the lamp and was laying on the floor. The book that comes with him says that we are not supposed to touch him because he will lose his magic. The boys were completely freaked out because they didn't know what we were supposed to do with him laying on the floor. Davis yelled, "Oh no...he's dead!!!" It took everything in me not to laugh. I explained that it would be ok for a grown up to touch him, so I picked him up and put him back on the lamp. It was pretty funny!
Christmas Eve we woke up and he was on the mantle in the middle of the Nativity Scene holding Baby Jesus. It was so sweet, and a great reminder of the real meaning of Christmas!
